Music has always been at the heart of my life — and teaching is where I’ve found the most joy.

I’m Ben Ferrari, a professional guitarist, bass player, and music teacher based in SE9, London. For over 15 years I’ve been helping students of all ages, teaching privately and as a visiting tutor in schools such as St Thomas More RC School and Beths Grammar School.

Alongside this, I work as a music therapist, supporting people to build confidence, focus, and wellbeing through music.

My lessons are fun, patient, and tailored — whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, preparing for graded exams, or just learning your favourite songs. I also bring in my experience from performing, recording, and creating music projects to keep lessons fresh and inspiring.

Get in Touch

  • I teach from age 6 upwards, but younger children can start if they're interested and can hold an instrument comfortably. Adults are very welcome too—it's never too late to learn! I tailor lessons to each student's age and maturity level.

  • Complete beginners are very welcome! That's actually where most of my students start. I take things at your pace and build confidence from lesson one. You'll be playing recognizable songs within weeks.

  • Both! I offer in-person lessons in New Eltham (SE9) and online lessons worldwide via video call. Online lessons work just as well as in-person—you'll need a guitar/bass and a decent internet connection.

  • Most students are playing simple versions of their favorite songs within 4-6 weeks. It depends on the song and how often you practice, but we work toward songs you're excited about from the start—that's what keeps learning fun.

  • Yes! I have experience preparing students for Rock School, Trinity, ABRSM and other exam boards, from Grade 1 through to Grade 8. I'll guide you through the whole process if that's your goal.

  • Just yourself and your guitar or bass! If you don't have an instrument yet, we can discuss options—I can advise on affordable beginner guitars too.
